Summary:
The Assistive Technology Director will be an integral key team member of the state's operations management team responsible to help expand the use of remote supports and assistive technology to help the individuals that MENTOR serves increase their level of independence.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below.
o Maintain a passion for helping to identify and coordinate quality services and supports that lead to growth and independence for the individuals that MENTOR serves.
o Collaborate with the leadership across the state (including Regional Directors, Area Directors, and Program Directors) to assess individuals for the use of remote supports and assistive technology to support their care needs.
o Coordinate all follow-ups related to these assessments, including identifying and vetting the technology options.
o Work with team members to incorporate any remote supports and/or assistive technology into the individual service plans.
o Serve as the liaison with the technology vendor companies, including scheduling demos, developing program specific implementation plans, and engaging ongoing with the vendors as applicable.
o Drive the training plan to ensure internal staff are well-versed with remote support and assistive technology capabilities, any state applicable policies, as well as have the necessary skills to discuss the options with individuals, their guardians and case managers.
o Engage with guardians and families to educate them on the use of remote supports and assistive technology, answer questions, and obtain consent.
o Engage with case managers, county boards, and other key local and regional stakeholders to educate them on the use of remote supports and assistive technology and to drive support.
o Performs other related duties and activities as required.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED BY THE JOB:

Education and
Experience:
o Bachelor's Degreeo 7-10 professional experience with preference for those with Health and Human Services industry and/or operational consulting experienceOther Skills and Abilities:
o Strong communication, analytical, facilitation, critical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
o Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and with a high degree of initiative.

Normal Office Work, Data Entry:
Sedentary work.
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
