***Trusted ebay seller for over 21 years for refurbished iPods as well as parts/repair sales, listing as much information as available***1st Gen iPods require a Firewire cable and charger to charge...and sync with firewire cable, through firewire port...I will confirm you're aware of this before shipping...NO cables or chargers are included with the sale.....I KNOW VERY LITTLE ABOUT 1ST AND 2ND GENS.... Originally When plugged in the iPod cycles from Apple logo to Folder symbol, with the familiar clicking hard drive sound...I then replaced the original hard drive with a 10gb from a 3rd Gen iPod....I was then able to sync the iPod with iTunes and add a few songs for minimal testing...all buttons and scroll appear to be functioning properly and sound through both headphones..this is how the iPod responded for me at this time....there are zero, no...guarantees as to how the iPod will perform upon receipt...I will test the iPod again before and notify the buyer if there are any changes in performance... . May be a good iPod to use for parts or possibly repair. The iPod is scratched up and had some clear flame sticker on the bottom ...I will include the original 5gb hard drive to keep the iPods original integrity as well (This Listing is for ONE iPod, 5 and 10gb in the title is due to adding broken 5gb drive)....I've been working on iPods for many years, but have not had many of this model.
